Life with our daughter Kelly has led us to have an extensive personal understanding of the needs of young people with learning and physical disabilities. Like many parents in our situation, we made use of the mainstream support and education available to Kelly up to the age of 21, but we have always wanted her to get the most out of life and so supplemented this with exciting personalised activities, such as skiing and sailing, which Kelly particularly enjoys.

This approach worked successfully for many years, but when Kelly became a young adult, we became frustrated and disheartened by the limits of the options open to her. We did not want her progress to stop and decided to set up our own company, Enabling Activities, to provide Kelly and young people like her with opportunities to develop physically and cognitively and, most importantly, to enjoy life for the years to come. We want to enable the young people that come to us to lead full and active lives and Enabling Activities offers a range of exciting and exhilarating day activities to achieve that end.

We both have an enhanced DBS check and are qualified in first aid.
